A house I was working at turned out to have several 6-wire, 3-line wall jacks scattered throughout. And naturally, DSL filters only handle 2 lines. So the filters would go on, and the telephone's 3rd phone line would cut out. Took too long for me to pinpoint this, as I have never seen 6-wire cabling in a residential setting...
I cannot find DSL filters that handle three phone lines. Do they exist?
If not, I have concocted a method of several splitters and couplers to handle the problem.
This splitter would fit into the phone and the wall jack. I could then use a standard DSL filter on one side and a regular phone cable on the other. It might seem cumbersome, but it's all I can come up with.
I also know about having an electrician/telco expert splitting the DSL signal off from the rest of the house phones at the demarcation point, but I'd rather not have to go down that path with this client.
Any suggestions?
