Hi,
I have had DSL Bronze Plus for about nine months. I started out with Linkline, and the service was outstanding. At the beginning of 2001, the DNS and router became congested, so I switched to another ISP. At the same time, there were numerous rain storms affecting Southern California.
With my current setup, I do get fast download and upload speed at 80k/16k. The problem is I only get that kind of speed at certain time of the day. I do not turn my system off, except during reboots. I monitor the speed constantly. I find that from around 2 P.M until 7 P.M, the speed average about 20k/12k. Thus, the download speed drops 80k down to 20k. At peak time around 4 P.M to 6 P.M, I difficulty browsing website. I think that says it all. There is no need to discuss the speed at that particular point.
I have called Verizon Techs. many times. I have spoken to so many of them, I they recognize me when I tell them the DSL number. Anyways, they have no been able to help at all. Verizon sent out two technicians since the beginning of 2001. The result is still bad.
Are Verizon's routers getting congested? Is my ISP routers congested? Verizon loves to blame everything on the ISP.
