DSL hangs: Need suggestions and help or trash barrel.

I too am a victim of Verizon. But I need my bandwith. Anyhow, I am running DSL in through a 3Com Etherlink XL 10/100 Pci Tx card. And the service hangs in the air for moments at a time prompting occasional lockups, line disconnects and general unpleasant screaming at the walls from me.

Help.

What you need to do is get rid of their PPPoE client. There's a hint of the solution in this

but someone else will have to help you with the specifics, since I'm on Qwest. There's something called RASPPPoE that works much better than the sh!t they ship you. Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

I installed it and let me tell you that the difference was noticable right away. That link also link has some of the funniest dsl horror stories I've ever read. Thanks!
