'K, here's my question... does anyone have any personal experience with any DSL or cable providers near the Seattle area? My mom is using Qwest/MSN DSL right now, but she wants to switch to something a little more stable... anyone have any suggestions? She's paying about $38 a month for 256K DSL.

Thanks!

i'm using attbi... can't say much. never had to ask for service, so i haven't had a chance to experience it yet. works fine... there were dns problems when it went from @home to attbi, but i think those have been fixed now. i exp. no problems currently.

where i live i can only get Millennium as my cable provider and the cable modem service is called cablespeed

here's their site cablespeed

they arent too bad they've been down maybe twice since i've had it and it wasnt nothing longer than the next morning for it to get back up

i remember it going down during a storm and my cable lines are actually coming from under the ground so that could also be a reason.

Another vote for SpeakEasy, you won't be disappointed. I was with them for 2 years before i had to move and *gulp* couldn't get any DSL in the new place (SWBell lack of equipment).

Of that 2 years, i only encountered a total of 2 hours downtime. And i was refunded those 2 hours as well (credit).
