Hi There,
I have the Bell "ident-a-call" service which gives 2 different rings for 2 different numbers assigned to my line. I also have DSL service. My problem is this:
I want to put a ring selector onto my line which will filter out one of the distinct rings and route it to my computer for Fax retrieval. When I put the ring selector on the line AFTER the DSL filter, the ring selector seems to let all rings through, which I don't want. When I put the ring selector BEFORE the DSL filter it works properly but then proceeds to kill the DSL connection every time the phone rings.
Does anyone know why my DSL line would get dropped? I know this is sort of a phone tech type question, but the guys at Bell had NO IDEA what to tell me... of course! 🙁
Perhaps I've got to find a very specific order to the lines/computer/dsl but I've yet to stumble upon it through trial and error.
