DSL account setup question

I've had a Pacbell (now SBC) DSL account for almost 5 years with an immutable username and 5 optional subaccounts. I've always used my immutable username (no subaccounts) and I need to change that bigtime - tons of spam. I set up a subaccount a few days ago but haven't informed everybody yet of my new email address. I'm upgrading to a new SBC DSL account this evening (faster, cheaper) I was just told that my new account will also have an immutable account username and up to 10 subaccounts. Should I change my immutable username to my new preferred email address and have my old one as a subaccount or does this matter at all? I'm going to have to monitor my old immutable username email address for a while until I'm satisfied that everything I care about is coming to my new address. Thanks.

Sounds like a good idea to me. Just use the old one a spam account.
