--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey guys, in need of some desperate help here. We have had DSL from the begining of May of last year. We had the starter package of the 384/384 for a long time, up until about December. We then jumped to the Pro package, which was 3.0mbps/512kbps. When they first upgrade it, we were at 2.596mbps, which wasnt bad. We had it like this for about a month. Me being a CCNA technician, I am constantly checking our connection, and up until about a week ago, it was reading 2.596mbps. Then it went down, to 1.9mbps, and I was pretty upset about it. I called them on Monday to see what was up, and they claimed that it would automatically do this. I asked the guy to set it back to what it was before, he said sure, so then I pushed him, asked him if our line could hold the 3.0mbps connection, he ran some tests, said we were 22K FEET from the DSL server, which is far, and he was surprised we could even get DSL, but sure enough he said it looked good, and that he would do it, and it worked.

Now here is my problem. While playing games, I seem to PAUSE, like I am loosing connection, but then it comes back, within seconds. Lastnight and tonight it has freakin gone beserke. Constantly doing this. Lastnight however, I kept checking the SPEEDS thru my DSL modem, and it would be 3.0mbps, the 2.7, then 2.8, and tonight its been steady at 3.0, but its giving me all the same problems. Here is a pic of the stats of the modem:

click here for the pic, u may have to stretch it to see it

So I am wondering if this and the attenuation, and noise and what not, has anything to do with this, please help me. I am using the 2WIRE homeportal DSL modem, and SBC yahoo DSL.

Is there a way to test to see if I am getting packet loss or some kind of loss?

***UPDATE***
I did a shutdown of the modem, simply unplugged it for about 2 mins, from everything, let it connect, now its giving me this of 2976kbps down 512kbps up, and here is the pic:
pic of new connection

****NEW NEW UPDATE**** 10 mins later, I run the test again, and get 2696kbps down 512kbps up, AND NOW my IP ADDRESS CHANGED TO A 70.243.XX.X, it was like a 124.xxx.xx.x number, check the stats here:

new stats

***GAH!!*** Now its 2560kbps......... after a restart of the system, this only happens when I restart the modem

***GAH POOP*** The dsl connection was lost, then came back at 2760kbps!

THIS WAS ALL LAST NIGHT, all day today, the connection was fine, now tonight, its back at it, and doing it more I think, WTF?!?!

How many DSL Filters do you have plugged in around???

Sounds like one degraded and is now bad.

Each Filter adds the equivalent of 3,500 feet to your line length.

Try and do a "Home Run" using one filter.
