DScaler: Can't Get to Work!!!

I have an ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon. Everything works perfectly with ATI's software, except that the software crashes every few seconds. With DScaler, I can get the newest (alpha) program running, but there's no option to watch TV. In the second-most-recent program, I'm getting the error "No Suitable Hardware". Help!?

The program won't even start up. It says "No Suitable Hardware" on the splash screen. That's as far as I get.

But I do have suitable hardware, an ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon. I can watch TV with ATI's software. Why doesn't DScaler work?

AFAIK, DScaler needs a TV card with a BT8x8-chipset. Among ATI's cards, only the stand-alone Wonder VE TV card (or something like that) uses this I think. The Radeons uses something else...

Me too, but I just installed 4.17 after reading this thread. I'm watching TV from my AIW 9700 pro tuner using Dscaler. Looks like crap and no audio with the default settings, but it definately is working. I'll fiddle around a bit and let you know.
Nice find🙂

How do you start TV with version 4.17? I looked through all the menus but couldn't figure it out.

Thanks in advance.

I tried DScaler months ago but the downloaded software from ATI works better in my situation.

I also could not get sound either - and curiously I had a virus recognised in the DScaler download....🙁

I've read of many people having trouble with the TV Wonder VE in XP but mine works flawlessly.

As with everything in Windows - YMMV 😉

Dshow>Video input>Video Tuner

I don't have a DShow menu!

These are the menus I have: Sources, Playlist, Channels, View, Deinterlace, Filters, AspectRatio, Settings, Actions, Datacasting, Help.

This is version 4.1.7, compiled June 26, 2003.

I have an ATI Radeon AIW 32MB DDR. I tried dscaler before and I recall reading that the AIW was NOT supported.

Have you updated all your ATI software? Maybe that'll stop the crashing. I like the ATI software, it works well. I especially like the TV Guide program. 🙂

Dscaler keeps getting updated you know🙂 First it only supported the composite and s-video input, now it does support the tuner as well (you'll notice I stated I was using it) its just not supported well. Definately the ATI software is far better at this point, but solid Dscaler support would certainly be nice as it is far more configurable.

I see the DShow option under "Sources", but it's grayed out.

Probably relates to your MMC crashing. Probably a fubured driver install. Maybe try drivercleaner and reinstall.

On another note, I was able to get audio working using the correct pins in the direct show audio setup, still unable to change channels using the channel scan wizard, however I can change channels in the direct show tuner configuration. I haven't had much time to play around with it, but definately interesting stuff.
