DS3L or DS3R

I'm looking at these two motherboards:
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R
it looks to me that the only difference is the L has the ICH9 and the R has the ICH9R south bridge. the only thing the R has extra is firewire and extra SATAs with RAID. I don't need firewire or RAID so should I get the L? will the L overclock the same as the R?
 
Other differences are:
  • 4 phase power vs. 6 phase power
  • ALC888 (97 dB SNR) vs. ALC889A (106 dB SNR)
OC ability is more or less the same. BTW DS3R has no firewire either.
 
if price is an issue i would look at the Abit IP35-E. Also check out the DFI Infinity Blood.

The DS3R is a wicked board.

I dont know what the difference between 4 and 6 phase power is other than 2 phases. off to the internets to find out.

What does stability have to do with efficiency? Any additional circuit added with draw more power! Asus P5B Deluxe with 8-phase, for example uses about 20 to 30 more watts than an Abit IP35-E with 4-phase.
