DS3 system posts fine, but with one 1 long beep

I just put this PC together and it posted fine. I was able to install XP and everything. Now it has started to beep once (long) at post, then once XP has loaded, it does continous long beeps. DS3 manual says RAM error.

I'm running memtest86+ right now, but I'd appreciate any help.

BTW, I tried 1 stick only each (to try to isolate bad stick), switched slots, etc.

UPDATE: beeping again. Please see my 2nd post - I have two different types of beeps.

Hi Kromis. Yes, it is🙂.

Alright, I've run it for 16 hours now, with 31 passes. Only 1 error, test 7, on pass 23. Failing address 0005ac4871c - 1452.5MB. good/bad - d8f2be02/d8f2ae02. Err-bits: 00001000. Count 1, Chan - "blank".

Also I've seen some screen shots of memtest86+ running. On the top part of the screen, it has info all the way down to memory: 2047M 3213MB/s.

But the Chipset info is blank, and there is no further info about my memory such as timing info, etc. Does this suggest anything?

I realized that I'm getting two different types of beeps at POST. The one I've been referring to is a lower pitched 1 second long beep. The beep I haven't mentioned is 1 very short higher pitched "chirp" that happens afterwards. I'm now thinking this is the BIOS beep code, meaning "system boots successfully."

So then what is the longer beep, which beeps 1 time at POST, then continously in windows. Do BIOS beep codes even beep within Windows? It's also sporadic, sometime it starts then stops, etc. Maybe some kind of alarm? Temps are 38C. Then I still have the 1 error in memtest86+.

Any thoughts?

I would get a long beep when I booted it up. It'd work fine in Windows and no further beeps. I lowered my OC and the long beep went away.
