I've got the gigabyte 965P DS3. In BF2 I have to set the sound to software, if I set it to hardware the artillery sounds continuously. Anyone heard of this?
i do have an old Diamond MX-300 in the closest, a great card, 6 years ago.... think I should give it a go? dont know if I can get drivers for it though
Turn off EAX but leave Hardware set to on in the audio settings, it should be better but not by much. The EAX sound quality in BF2 has gone downhill since the 1.27 driver release.
now that I'm not at work and game sites arent blocked I was able to do some research on it, it seems unless you have a creative sound card then any form of hardware endering causes problems. Not too big of a deal I suppose I doubt BF2 even uses 50% of the E6400's power so software sound should show much of an affect in performance.
