yes but the redesign makes it almost a completely different machine. major screen brightness upgrades, button responsiveness, improved placement of power, volume buttons, battery life, and of course, size. It's a lot like an iPod generation upgrade- if you have an iPod G3, why would you want to upgrade to a G4?


My only problem with it is the placement of the volume button. Depending on how I'm holding the ds lite, half of the time my pinky is resting right on it. While playing, my pinky will sometimes slide the button left, turning down the volume.

i did that a couple times. as a stupid complaint, the size of the DS has made it uncomfortable for me to hold for long periods of time, as i'm either accidentally hitting LR buttons, moving the volume slider, or having cramped/sweaty/hot fingers. occasionally I have to put my index fingers above the hinge to relieve my fingers of the crampedness.
