whats with all the people on Ebay trying to sell DS Lites for more than retail price? some are like $100 more than retail. Are they hard to get or soemthing? doesn't make sense.
 
No clue but I never even considered getting a DS until I saw the DS Lite commercial with the new Mario game.

I'm sold, just need to get some money and I'll be getting one.
 
I think people are really so clueless they think any new system will sell for above retail on eBay. 😕 Or maybe they're imports and they didn't realize it was released in the US already. 😀

I'm amazed that people were stupid enough to spend $200+ on imported DSes before the US release. Is a regular DS really that bad? 😕

Wait, are the auctions actually selling/completing at +100 more than retail?

If so I need to sell my Lite on ebay...that's a nice profit.

i don't know if they are complteting that high but there are tons listed at at $228 buy it now as the only option. many more for like $150+

Oh ok...hmm...I didn't think Lites were that hard to find. Maybe not worth listing.
 


they were selling out at bestbuys/circuitcity's here in Columbus.


That doesn't mean they aren't getting new shipments though.
 
well these things still aren't available world wide yet as well, they could be going for international buyers.

That is crazy considered it is just a redesigned DS. Its not like it has any new games that can't be played on the old DS.

i used to sell stuff on ebay...i woudl set the buy it now prices on all my items, and all of them ended up selling for prices higher than my buy it now...i didn't mind taht one bit 🙂

It's quite a bit smaller, it's white, the button positions have changed a bit (power button is now a switch on the side instead of a button above he D-pad, although this has never cause me any problems). The position of the microphone changed to the hinge from the bottom. I believe the stylus got longer and moved to a different position so it would fit. And the screen now has 4 brightness settings, all of which are brighter than the DS's one brightness setting, which I've never found to not be bright enough.

yes but the redesign makes it almost a completely different machine. major screen brightness upgrades, button responsiveness, improved placement of power, volume buttons, battery life, and of course, size. It's a lot like an iPod generation upgrade- if you have an iPod G3, why would you want to upgrade to a G4?

My only problem with it is the placement of the volume button. Depending on how I'm holding the ds lite, half of the time my pinky is resting right on it. While playing, my pinky will sometimes slide the button left, turning down the volume.

the only reason i see anybody paying more on ebay is because ebay has the "colored" ds lites (the 2 blues and pink IIRC) and stores in the US are only carrying the white.

either way im not so sure color is worth the extra money, but thats why i think some are priced so high.
