Is there any difference in the DS and DS Lite other than size/looks? Is the screen brighter or anything?

Also does either have built in wifi and can you use any set of headphones on it? I can probably pickup a used DS for less than half the price of a new DS Lite. Looks aren't important to me :D.

Crap brighter screen? How much brighter? That alone makes me want a DS Lite now. I hated my old GBA once the new brighter screen version came.

Screen is much much brighter on the Lite. The lowest brightness setting is equivalent (possibly better) to the highest brightness setting on the regular DS. Games look way better on the DS Lite.

Watch these 2 videos. Part I & Part II.

Both have wifi. You can use any headphone you want. Lite is much bright even at it's lowest brightness setting. There are 4 levels of brightness on the Lite.

Headphone? I can't download videos because I'm on a public computer...

Anyway, the Lite also has much better battery life (20 hours or so on the lowest brightness setting, which is just fine for normal daylight playing).

Yeah, Cable's a funny guy. He should do more reviews on gadgets. LMAO on his 2nd review of DSL.

BTW, he also did a Part III on the DSL, where he took it out for a walk. :D

Someone mentioned they have a USB wifi adapter for their DS Lite to play online? What do they mean if it has it built in? Also what are some other good online games(if any) other than Mario Kart?

You buy a wifi adapter if you don't have a wireless router. You plug it into your computer and uses the computer's connection.

Only thing that sucks about the wireless is it supports WEP only. That's one good thing about the USB wifi adapter, you don't have to change your router's security to get your DS online.

Animal Crossing and Tony Hawk American sk8land are both pretty decent online games as well. i personally prefer the games that aren't centered around going online.

great games for DS that don't get enough spotlight:
Phoenix Write
Kirby Canvas Curse
Nanostray
Resident Evil DS
Fifa 06
Worms DS
Sonic DS

Don't forget about Advance Wars: Dual Strike. Awesome game!! I wish a real RPG would come out for the DS soon.

I'm debating on a DS Lite or PSP. I think I would like the PSP better, as the games ar emore appealing, but Brain Age looks fun.

The only way you can decide if the screen brightness matters to you, is to go to a store and look at them.

The screenshots you see in reviews aren't really useful. Going by that is like looking at a photo of a 60 watt light bulb versus a 75 watt light bulb. The 75 watt light bulb will be brighter, but that doesn't tell you whether or not you'd be happy with the 60 watt bulb.

Personally I'd rather have my pretty blue regular DS and $50, than a crappy white DS lite.

I am playing Brain Age right now on my DSL while my PSP sits in my closet collecting web.

worth the upgrade. The screen is much much brighter than the original and it seems to have more contrast as well.
