He just wishes you are a pirate so maybe you might share your booty with him. There is a thread about one in the hot deals forum, clicky.

I have an M3, which is almost the same thing as the R4. Works great for up to 2GB microSD cards.

R4 has been overwhelmingly suggested as the best by the sites I visited before purchasing. They are out of stock at most places however. :(

who said i was pirating? homebrew anyone?

there is no point in denying it. buying an r4 to play homebrew is about as common as installing kazaa back in the day to download "independent garage band artists that chose to share their music legally through the network."

R4 is very cool, has screen skinning capability, has a cool menu system that will let you choose games, music, video, boot a Slot-2 cart.

My son has an R4 w/ a 2GB MicroSD card in it. I have grabbed roms copies of the games I've bought for him over the last few years (I know there's a vague question of whether or not they're legal unless I dumped them myself...whatever, I bought the damned games, most for full price, in my crazy, hippy world, that's plenty). I've also grabbed a couple of games that I didn't buy first to see how they were before making the decision to buy them. If we decide he doesn't like the game, I delete it and we move on.

The fact is most games on the DS are trash, and there's no really convenient way to find that out without either buying them or downloading the roms to try them out. We own around 30 DS games now, and 10 or so of those were bought after downloading the rom and liking it enough to purchase. I think we use the R4 card in a legitimate, honest way, I know most people don't, but I can't control those people, I can only vouch for my own approach to using one.

Any differences between the R4 and the M3? Aren't they pretty much the same thing? I am thinking about the M3 DS Real because the R4 is sold out everywhere.

Good question. Anyone got an answer. I was gonna get an R4 but they are in short supply.

Even if you can find a company selling one, it is in hong Kong and they don't ship for like a month.

The R4 AFAIK, doesn't have support for HC Micro SD cards, it doesn't have as good of Download play as the M3 Real, and depending on where you shop, you can get the M3 with the Rumble pack for the same price as the R4 by its lonesome.

Here is a link two different reviews of the M3 Real.

Here's a review for the R4. Same site.

I'll second this recommendation. More specifically, I'd recommend the M3 Real. Either way, RealHotStuff is very reliable.
