I got a lilac flower form my gramma's funeral today, and I want to preserve it.

I assume drying it is the best way.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the drying of lilacs?
Somebody said they thought it had to be pressed (in a book I think)

Thanks

Get some wax or parchment paper, the kind you would typically have in your kitchen. Fold it in half and place the flower inside. Gently press down and arrange the flower so the petals spread the way you want. Place the paper with the flower inside a heavy book and put it back on the shelf, wedged pretty tightly between other books. In a couple of weeks, the flower will be pressed and dried.

I wouldn't think that method would work well with a lilac.
If it's fairly fresh, you can put the stem in glycerine... Google preserving flowers.
