Dryer makes the air really humid?

The apartment I just moved into has the washer and dryer in my bedroom closet. When I run the dryer, the closet gets really humid. Should this be happening or is the dryer hose messed up?

I want to put my clothes in there, but I'm afraid to with the humidity.

had the same problem. dryer hose was cut and the output wasn't going into the vent.

Makes sense. The air is cool around it and the dryer gets hot. Its like a little fog machine!

no, this shouldn't happen if the damp hot air from the dryer is being vented properly.

call your landlord and demand it be hooked up to a vent, otherwise dry your clothes the old fashioned way, on a clotheshorse in front of a sunny window

Its gonna be in the list of repairs that I'm requesting. I just wasn't sure if it was just because the dryer is in a tiny closet or if the hose was messed up.

Venting issue. Check to see if the vent/hose is clogged, hose has a leak or hose isn't properly attached to the dryer/outside vent.

It'll happen to a small degree, especially in an enclosed space like that. If it's really bad it's definitely a problem with the venting.

Yep, if the vent hasn't been cleaned in a number of years, it could be clogged with lint.

Unless the dryer is leaking humid air it shouldn't get humid. If you take air and heat it up it gets less humid (percentage wise), not more humid.

Is it a gas or an electric dryer? Gas could be a problen, as carbon nonoxide will be building up.
And with either, if the vent is blocked (you did clean the lint filter?), a fire could result.

Had the same thing happen to me in a previous apt. The hose had come loose in the back.

Spend 5 minutes to check that it is hooked up and the hose nor vent is clogged.

Any of those, you can fix yourself without buggingthe landlord - just inform him that you solved the problem.

If the above is not the problem, then he needs to take care of the issue.

A clogged vent can make the vent connection to the dryer come loose. That is my first feeling in troubleshooting. I recommend looking at the vent connection at the dryer, then cleaning the duct to the outside air.

Could be a bitch depending on the length to outside. If a really long run then your landlord needs to have it cleaned for you

My dryer's vent is right in the front in the restroom. It definitely gets hot and humid when I run it, but everything doesn't get wet or anything.
