Dryer acting up

Mo0o

My clothe dryer is acting wierd, the drum is spinning and the light comes up when i open the door but there is no heat. Too late for me to pull the machine out and take a look but anyone know what it could be?

This is gonna sound really dumb but do it anyway... take out the lint filter, clean it of lint, and then run it under hot water for a minute or two.

The filter can get an invisible buildup of soap and stuff that won't allow proper air circulation making the heat element shut off.

Or your dryer could be messed up but this is worth a shot.

I think tomorrow im just gonna open up the whole thing and vacuum the bejesus out of it. Other than that I'm not sure what else I can do that is within my abilities

that's a hell of a lot better than mine.....cause I don't have one

hahah I wish it was MY dryer. It's more like my parents and I'm just fixing it for them.

That happened to mine like 3 times, there is something in there that loosens up after so many uses. It starts to make
a ticking-type of sound.

just be sure to unplug(or trip the breaker) first. You may want to clean the exhust ductwork out too.

We had an issue like this and when I pulled the front of the dryer off where the lint goes was completely clogged up.

Cleaned it out and it has been running great since. The dryer isd about 4~5 years old so now I check it about once every few months.

Check the ducting and ensure you have good airflow and then pop the front off and have a look.

hold down the "door close" button, and see if you can feel the air inside. (or go ahead and clean the lint areas) if there's breeze and zero heat, you got a bad heating element.

electric: no clue, I've only ever fixed gas dryers.

gas: 99% chance it's your electronic ignition that's bad. It's like a $20 part, just have to find an appliance supply store. Just gotta open up the dryer to replace it. You'll probably need some funny screwdriver heads to get to the guts of your machine, but it's an easy fix.

This is what the problem was on mine, back in May. The total repair was $50 and change.

Ok I kind of fixed it after replaxing the heating unit but now the wierd thing is the heating will turn off randomly and i would have to turn it on / off for a bit to get it to heat up again. I have no idea what could be the problem

Check the dryer vent and the tube going outside. They might be stopped up.

Naw, theres air coming out of the exhaust, im sure it's not clogged up. From what I can gather its probably a faulting thermostat, the question is, of the 3, which one...
