Dry spell for good games?

The last game I bought was either Grid or Mass Effect. Conan and Wow are always there if I get deperate enough but there doesn't seem to have been anything worth playing this month outside of MMO.

Is this time of year always this slow?

There's just been a slow batch of games.

Spore is coming out, that looks pretty sweet.

Along with Warhammer :-D

As far as FPS and strategy games go, it's going to be a while. Diablo 3 is in the works, and Starcraft 2 will be out here before you know it.

Dawn of War 2, Starcraft 2, Diablo 3... it's all coming down the pipe eventually, we just have to wait

The summer is slow every year though, if it hasn't been released by June then the publishers like to wait until the Christmas purchasing season has begun (October, right around the corner)

Yeah I was just looking at what was coming out soon and it's pretty dry.

Watched some Legend: Hand of God gameplay and it looks pretty boring.

Everlight triler looks like a bit of a snoozefest as well

Space Siege is coming the week of August 12th and to be honest it looks kind of fun.

I know the C&C3 Red Alert closed beta is underway and am thinking of trying to get into that

But yeah, you probably won't be seeing much else for a few months.

I just bought all the FEAR games, because I totally forgot about the expansions. That'll keep me somewhat busy over the next month or so. Ive got plenty of free time to kill now-a-days, so I'm going back to games that I've wanted to play, but missed, along the way.

There are a few things which are perking my interest on consoles next month, but nothing on PC. It is a typical summer though so I am not upset.

I'm looking forward to Space Siege and Stalker: Clear Sky coming out in August. Then there are several big games in September and October, too bad school also starts then . Nothing came out in July though.

From June till september it's pretty slow. Summervacation, for some reason games don't sell particularly well around this time. Of course lotsa people will do things outside, but plenty of people have a lot of spare time, so you'd reckon they'd play games as well. Just wait a few more weeks ...

And a busy moderator that hasnt tested out his dual monitor and HDTV fixes yet?

Ive just ordered Crysis to whack on my HD4870, 42" Plasma HDTV 1920x1080 goodness etc. and I might pick up FEAR although I really am a scarediecat.. despite playing some AvP1+2 Marine levels in the dark after 10pm.

My PSU is going in for RMA (dying fan) this week so I'll be home-PC'less for a week or so and my AoC sub ends on August 7th so, Im relatively free.
