I work for a supermarket.... i know about the random drug testing but they want me to come in today and take the drug test. Before it was it can be "anyday this week"... but now it is imperative that i take it today. I'm on campus... just got out of classes... but i have to stick around until 7 pm.
i have to take the bus back home and go to the supermarket and go to the drug testing place... come home and take the bus back to school again??

is this allowed? shouldn't they make it so it fits my schedule or do i have to sarcrifice my time for them?? this is so much bullsh*t

if you work for them, and drug testing is in your contract, i believe they can schedule whenver they want.

If he submitted an availability form, they should abide by that.

i agree they should, but i doubt they'd be legally obligated to do so.

I would presume that, from the time you get to the supermarket until you leave the drug testing place, you are on the clock.

If not, I would not go.

im so glad that grocers and other supermarket employees are free of drugs while mopping floors, stocking shelves or running a cash register.
to think that someone could be taking drugs while performing those critical duties.

edit:
to think that someone could be doing drugs on their time off the clock and away from the supermarket is even more astounding and it no doubt will have a negative influence on their job performance.

Take your time! As long as you make an effort, they cannot do sh!t to you. Also, if you do not work today, tell them you want to get paid for it. My company pays us to go!

I know exactly what I'm doing, & that's absolutely nothing.

It's kinda nice knowing you can pass a drug test any time, anywhere, and for anyone, with no notice whatsoever.

It's called sobriety, you might try it some time.

You can be perfectly sober, not high, and not under the influence of drugs and still fail a drug test. A marijuana high lasts for at most 6 hours (long estimate) yet it can fail you for the next 40 days.

Also, in a drug test, they can test you for other medications. I personally would not want them to know if I was taking a medication for a life-threatening disease... or an embarrassing STD.

A drug test is like a random search. I don't think anyone should ever be subject to a drug test unless he/she has a history of prior use on the job. People that are dumb enough to take drugs on the job are dumb enough to get themselves fired for other reasons.

Oh, btw, you get a cookie for your sobriety yet voicing opinions on something you cannot understand or judge until you experience it.
