Drug test and unemployment question

A friend of mine is about to lose his job. The company wants to give him a drug test (he will fail). Will he be able to collect unemployment? Would it be better for him to stay, take the test, fail and be fired? Or, would it be better for him to refuse the test and get fired?

Ohh ya, why is he using drugs when he needs this job that gives drug tests? Kinda askin for it isnt he?

There's no reason he can't pass the drug test unless they are doing a hair follicle test. Then he is pretty much fu**ed.

He is the super of several HUD buildings, and a new company came in last Monday and took it over. He does drugs on a daily basis (I'm not condoning or condemning this, it's just the way he is). He's never had a problem before because the last company never did drug testing. He smokes weed on a daily basis, but only after work. Now he will be out of ajob either way, he's just trying to figure out what to do to get unemployment until he can clean himself up and get a new job.

Takes 3 days or less to prepare for a drug test unless they are pulling hair.

He needs to pass the test and stay employeed until he's fired so he can collect unemployment. My friends that were looking for a job always did a week or cleaning with pills from GNC while they sent out resumes and did the first round of interviews. They stayed clean for a couple weeks until they landed a job, and then either started back or stayed clean depending on the drug testing policy of the new company.
