In columbus, ohio and I'm pretty sure everywhere else in time.

I think they were going out of business a while ago, but some company bought them out, however that company bit the dust as well.

They had discounts on most things...however, it's whatever's left on the shelf. Saw a 20in flatscreen tv for 130 I think. Mostly you'll find deals like on shampoo, tide/downie type things

happy hunting.

The DE around me is still open I think, but it seemed it was winding down the last time I was there a couple months ago. This is in southeast PA.

It seems like CVS is going to stomp most other pharmacies / drug stores. It appears they have a campaign to put a CVS pharmacy nearly every mile on major roadways.

Most of the Drug Emporiums (at least in Columbus) have been really bare even before this was announced. I went in the one on Bethel Rd. a few weeks ago at lunch looking for some travel sized stuff, and it was slim pickins everywhere in the store. If I ever needed a prescription, I'd got to DE, since it was usually about 40% cheaper than CVS or Walgreen's.

FWIW, Drug Emporium, Phar-Mor and Rite AID are now totally out of Columbus. CVS has been closing some stores here too. Looks like it's down to Walgreen's and the big grocery stores. I avoid CVS because of their stupid 'club' card you have to use to get anything below MSRP.

It might not be happening in CA since Snyder(out of Canada) the company that bought DE sold the CA stores and name to an ex VP of DE along with Drug Barn. I'm pretty sure there still alive and kicking.
