I'm not a big fan of Reason, but a friend of mine put this on their facebook status.

It really pissed me off, even though I already suspected it was why Hillary Clinton and most politicians support the War on Drugs.

I wish someone would hang her. I'm glad that Obama beat her sorry ass.

Holy misleading titles. There is nothing what so ever to do with drug cartels paying politicians to continue the War on Drugs™. There are billions of dollars to be made in the War on Drugs™, but it isn't because Pablo Escobar was slipping Hilary some C notes.

Ok Ok, even if we buy the possibility that the Mexican drug cartels bribe US politicians to support the US war on drugs, and that may make some sense for the Mexican drug cartels. After all, the Mexican cartels are almost in defacto control of the Mexican government, and the US consumers demand for illegal drugs is what finances Mexican drug cartels.

If gasp, the USA legalizes some drugs, there goes the money that keeps the Mexican drug cartels in business and flush with cash, its simple logic that USA current illegal drug prices would drop like a stone. And hence be very bad for Mexican drug cartels. So there may be some logic without proof that the Mexican drug cartels would be wise to donate to the campaigns of US anti-drug politicians to keep their illegal profits rolling in.

Where anarchist 420 is out of his pee picking mind is that Mexican drug cartels would only donate to Swillary Clinton and the dimorats. And not to a pile of other Republirats also. After all, Hillary is now Sec of State, and has no voice in setting internal US drug policy. What sane Mexican drug cartel would waste any money donating to Hillary? That is only in the mind of our OP's piss poor logic.
