So last week I rented a BMW 330d convertible in Ulm, Germany and drove it south to Bormio, Italy via Davos, Switzerland. A spent a few days in the area and drove the Stelvio Pass a few times. This Davos-Stelvio stretch was named the 'Best in Europe' by TOP GEAR UK.

While driving the road the first time, I came upon several unreleased BMW ///M X5s as well as one ///M4.

If anyone has any questions about it, let me know!

Was it as good as they said it was?

Did you specifically choose a BMW with the black and white stuff?

The pictured BMW is a prototype M4.

My BMW was a 330d cabrio.

And yes it was...on that day with that weather...both the Pass and the surrounding roads are an amazing experience.

Ideal car would be a Miata or Elise IMO. Perhaps a Boxster S. The switchbacks of the Pass are too short for anything super powerful.

Nice. Is it worth adding to ones bucket list? Am considering doing a "European Delivery" in a few years. Might add that to the driving route while I'm there.

Also, no in car video? :(

Lots of in-car video... just nothing ready to post.

And yes. Do it. It was on my list. 110% glad I did it. I highly recommend staying at the hotel San Lorenzo in Bormio, IT. I can recommend 3 of the best Italian restaurants you'll ever eat at.
