Meh. You're talking about a guy who just received a $50K bonus at work and in 1-2 years will be making $250K/year when he's 26/27. Money is no object for him.

If he's that loaded, wouldn't an SMG M3 be a better choice?

with that much wealth, i'd get an Mercedes E55 AMG. Family sedan, and it's quick, quicker than the Audi RS6.

If he really makes that much money he is a tool to get a 3 series BMW, with an exception of the M3 obviously. Also for a least payment that is very high, I have seen many BMW advertised leases in the ~$300 range. Of course, that does leave for a nice sized balloon payment but that is typical of every lease.

I personally feel that for the most part the 3 series BMWs (again not the M3) are for badge buyers who just want a BMW to have a BMW. Either one should get at least a 5 series BMW or get something like the G35 instead.

The 3 series is just flat out fun to drive. And a great motor to boot.

500-550 on a 3yr, 15K, no down lease sounds about right.

I had to pick between 330, G35, TL and have driven all three extensively. They each have their strong points - fun to drive being the 330s advantage over them all.

I've never driven a Japanese car that was really FUN to drive. As in, you take it out for a drive, with no where to go in particular. They're all just so... point a to point b.

No we won't. BMW is not doing the M3/M4 thing because there is just too much gold in the M3 name to not use it exclusively.

Oh... so will there be a 4 door m3?

While I can't remember the official announcment on that (and am too lazy to look for it right now), I'm leaning towards "yes." Like I said, there is just too much stock in the M3 name to not run with it. Why go to M4 if it's just confusing?

because bmw is doing this whole lineup thing. all the even series will be coupes and all the odd number series will be sedans. just like what they are doing w/ 5ers and 6ers. so the m3 will be the sedan, and the m4 will be the coupe.

wouldn't it be stupid to have the high perf 4 series car (which will be the coupe version of the 3 series) be called the m3?

Never driven a Mazda then, have you? A Miata or even my modest little 3 will put a smile on your face as you blast through the curves on some of the mountains in northern AZ.

if you looked into the said lease plans, they are for the stripped 325, so you'd think you can afford a bimmer. look into anything descently equpiied and you'll be at 400+ easy.

i don't know how many bimmers you've driven or tested in your life, but i was quite impressed with how sweet the 330 was when i drove it. i have to disagree w/ the badge buyer comment. 330 is refined all around, and pretty quick, where as the g35 is speed and power first, and comfort later. imo

g35 is a really good alternative to the 330, if yer looking for balls out fast in that price range w/ some luxury, esp if you consider it's 4-5 grand cheaper. but if yer looking at a lease, g35 is pretty similar to a 330, due to lower residual of the bmws over the g35.

m3 is a sweet piece of a ride, the ride is a bit harsh, esp if yer not the type to gun it at every stop light, to take advantage of the best 6 cyl 3.0l-4.0l in the business (according to some car authority..) may not be a dream car for all..

Again, that is wrong. It was rumoured BMW was going to do saloons as odd numbers and coupes as even numbers but there quite simply will not be an M4. It will not exist. Period. You're right that the M5 is a saloon and the M6 will be a coupe but you'll also notice the M5 and M6 are not based on the same car with varying numbers of doors. Sorry to be harsh but you're wrong.

After doing some looking, I'm almost certain there will be a 4 dour M3 but there will also be a 2 door M3. See here.

It'll be a 3xxCi. I can not make this clear enough: There will be no 4 series. There will be no M4. Period.

Note: To be fair, there could one day be a 4 series. If there is, it will NOT be the coupe version of the 3 series! :)

It likes to oversteer with the DSC turned off. He bought it with the premium sound system, silver-grey paint, and black leather. His lease? $550.00/month out here in the Bay Area.

FYI, for those who don't know, the Performance Package adds like 10hp, 19" wheels, different spoilers, etc.

overpriced. for that much $$$$$, i would get a G35 coupe. But that's just me.

if you like paying for an overpriced rebadged nissan. great suggestion.
