Maybe next year I'll get one if my stocks go back to normal levels!

I'm more interested as to how you kept it only to 90 if you were accelerating on the highway!? I've driven in my dad's m6 and i've been hard pressed to keep the damn thing under 100 if I let it loose on the highway.

Self restraint? Ability to lift the throttle rather than keep it pegged to the carpet?

It's actually very easy.

Yeah, but you have to go against gravity to lift, so god wants us to push down!

He probably did not fully floor it, but felt the intense power

I know when I have driven my ES350 I have not floored it yet, but I have come close. I need to take it on the hw

Key word was if. lol. I was just saying i found it hard to believe if he floored it that he kept it at 90.

As an owner of an '08 M3, I have to agree that the "M-button" on the steering wheel is a beautiful, magical thing. On the M3 it doesn't change horsepower, but you can select between different throttle mappings to give the car significantly greater throttle response. It also adjusts the steering feel and both EDC and DSC settings.

The car really shines at high speeds (as I imagine the M5 does as well), and when you get on it, it's hard to keep it under 100mph.

It's definitely a high speed vehicle. The low speed performance isn't nearly as impressive.

I really wish the car could remember the settings you leave it on, instead of having to push buttons and change things everytime you get in the car.

Don't you watch Top Gear? Audis are the new cock-mobiles.

🙁 I always liked the new Audi's, but I can't like them anymore just for that reason...

The problem is HOW often do these owners get to test out the high speed and handling performance? I bet very few guys actually go to track days.

For me I get frustrated at having a car that is suppose to handle and drive well and not using that much of it's potential 🙁. But hopefully The Ring in 4-5 weeks time will cure that and a few track days this year and more next year will help the fix 😀
