I have an out of warranty canon sd200 with a jamed lense. When i was taking the camera out of my pocket it hit the ground after it had been turned on.

Online i did some research and people have had success in pulling on the lense and rotating it, or pushing down on the lense as it tries to retract. I tried both ways but the problem has not bee solved. Any ideas?

I dropped a Olympus Ultra zoom camera last month and the battery cover broke. I later threw out the camera after recovering the memory card and battery. Now I am looking for another camera with a faster response time, manual focus and more accurate flash. I figure a camera is just a tool and are easily replacable. Great images are not...

Never liked the camera that much except for traveling.

Ack, canon charges like 165 to repair this sort of thing which would be about how much i could get this camera new for. Maybe i can find a mom and pop camera repair shop near the university with good prices.

The camera isnt easily replaceable when you dont have the spare money to replace it :( Semester just started so i got hit hard with tuition/books/rent.

I dropped my Olympus C4000Z a few months back. The whole lens assembly detached, and plastic broke. I attempted to fix it, but that was an unsuccessful attempt.

Ultimately, your camera is busted. Period. So is mine. You can go without until you can afford a new one. And replacing mine costs twice as much as replacing yours. So STFU, quit whining, and accept the consequences of your error. Repairing a P+S is a pure waste of money.
