Dropped Laptop

Just got a Lenovo R61 that looks to have been dropped at some point. No obvious physical damage to the case, however there is "spider veining" from one corner of the LCD. Looks like excessive back light bleeding. From the same corner there is also a rather strange noise... sounds like a quick, high pitched Morse code. According to the Lenovo tech I spoke with, the noise is from the inverter.

The system is completely usable, I'm just wondering... Does anybody know if this problem is likely to get worse? I have no way to know how long it's been in this state.

does it matter? looks like you can afford it.
it'll spider vein crack further if carried around. not predictable, maybe you'll luck out and it'll run for a while before the lcd gets worse
