"Irish Punk?"

Um, er, eeah...Riiiiight. That's gotta have a fanbase of say, about 2 people, right?

This isn't 1980. They aren't GBH...and that kind of agnst doesn't sell anymore.

IMHO, the last great punk band to make money was Green Day.

Never heard them, but I've seen stickers stuck in random places at my school (lights, doorknobs, lockers)

Well the style has been around since the 80s... but I was just asking. Dont knock it till you try it!

I like them. They are a good band. I am sort of losing my taste for punk right now though.

I'm a fan of their older stuff when Al Barr was singing for them... with their new singer and their selling out, I've grown apart from them... oh yeah, and 2 of my friends used to go to all their shows and hang out with them afterwards :D

Acutally, DKM is one of the more popular punk bands (and they were an Oi! band, not an "irish punk" band)... very popular amongst the boston punk scene... I have their albun Do or Die, and its probably one of their best albums IMO...

Green Day the last great punk band??? Question: ever hear of the Sex Pistols? or the Ramones? or maybe the Clash?

Oh, did I get the two mixed up?? My bad... I actually don't like the stuff they do with Al Barr now... I'm actually thinking of Mike McColgan, when DKM had him, the band kicked some ass....

Irish punk as in they have a lot of Irish influence... I mean, Boston... common.

You have a point there, and yes, Boston is popular with Irish folk (yes, I'm one of them, but don't live in Boston :D).... but their really considered Oi!... For those of you that don't know, its a derivitive of the punk genre...

God damn, I wish I had one of their CDs handy right now, I could really use a listen to the CD now :)

Yeah, I've seen them a few times...fun music, if you're in the right mood. Flogging Molly's good too, but I like DM more...

Another good band to listen to if you like DKM is the Ducky Boys. Unfortunately, they aren't together anymore, but they're also based outta Boston, and are just as popular. No irish influence, but just pretty much the same hard-pounding punk like DKM...
