drop in 3dmark03 score after 9500 oc?

at stock speeds, iwth my original BIOS, i get 3750 marks on a 2.2ghz (200x11), 2-2-2-6 PC3200, Saphhire 9500pro
stock speed, stock BIOS: 3750
oc BIOS restuls:
280/280 : 2409
300/300 : 2580
340/320: 2815

why did my score drop?
and how do i tell the temp of my card, just so i don't burn it up?
and will getting a zalman (platinum edition) from ocsystem.com help cooling?
