Droop Problem?

Has anyone heard of this problem when dealing with a 2.4C P4? Something about voltage and overclocking....

Heard there is a fix for this problem (I have a Abit AI7 mobo)

Could you also tell me a little about the problem?
 
I'm not having a problem yet, but supposedly all 2.4's have them when you overclock... Didn't know if anyone knew what I was talking about.

We'll how about you link where you heard of it. Then someone could check it out and see what the heck this means.

I had a 2.4c overclocked to 3.1ghz, and didn't experience any problems. Yeah, a link to this "droop" problem may help, cause I don't think anyone knows what you are talking about..
 
That information doesn't really say much. It doesn't say how high they were trying to OC, what board they were using, what cooling they were using, or any other useful info. Perhaps they were just trying to get an extremely high OC, and the chip just couldn't handle it. My 2.4c was at 3.1ghz on air at default voltage. And it appears that droop is refering to some kind of mod to the cpu itself, probably removing, or jumping certain pins. And it doesn't say anything about an Abit motherboard either, since he's using Asus probe to monitor voltages..

Found something on it HERE. Looks like a hard mod 9requires soildering look like) to the mobo to obtain a high vcore without experiencing a voltage drop (which would cause instability).

BTW, I think that guy (shimism sp?) also posts here under the same name. Might send him a PM about it.
