Let's see how far the outrage goes with this.

Think US senators will be sending letters to Motorola?

A guy at work knows I have some Apple stock and was ribbing me about the iPhone 4 antenna.

I took out my N1, just put it in my hand and showed him how just holding the N1 I could drop it from 2 bars to 0 and drop a call. No death grip or squeezing, just holding it.

I love nerd rage when it goes mainstream...

and if it's only the launch batch, I'm fine with that. Early adopters always guinea the pigs. Should be getting mine by tomorrow and have full confidence it can be replaced under warranty... at least something is actually being done about it... ahem... already fixed.

Yea if you read the news on it, Moto has already fixed the problem in manufacturing and you can go into a Verizon store to get a replacement if you are one of the people that it has happened to.

No problems with mine, but from all the other links posted, it seems like not many have the issue. I don't think there's any recent smartphone (or any other gadget) that launched with a flawless batch of phones from day 1.

no manufacturing process is 100% defect free. Props to moto for stepping up, admitting and fixing the issue promptly

And Verizon.

They had a process in place to fix the issue prior to it hitting the news that there were problems. That's how it should be done.

I like how people are already trying to compare this to the iPhone problems.

Big difference between a universal design flaw inherent on all perfectly manufacturered and functioning units versus a defective 3rd party component on a isolated batch of units.

Motorola has apparantly also acknowledged that there are numerous complaints about the inability to clear contact history and should be fixing it next patch.

I'm loving this thing, I haven't touched my laptop in days. Cannot wait until Aug/Sept.

I wonder what the fix was... me thinks a sheet of foam in the already minimal packaging to protect the phone from UPS/FedEx? Lol

lol If Moto sold 50,000 phones that means 50 phones or .02% Defect rate.

That is a really good defect rate.

You must really love the Nexus One. It seems you mention it in every thread you can, regardless of what the topic is.

Yep they actually admitted to it quickly instead of beating around the bush about it for a while.

I would keep the defective phone and then file a lawsuit over how I was forced to buy this defective product, even though I could return it for a new one or full refund.

Trying to compare this to the faulty design of the iPhone 4.

And you fail for covering up Droid problems and over-blowing iPhone 4 problems.

The screen randomly failing sounds like an issue to me. And, your idea about the fautly design on the iPhone is an OPINION by the way. They are content with how it was designed, it gets better reception, and saves room inside the phone. If some tards like to post a video of the bars dropping and wet their pants over it...then thats their fun. I would be stupid to think i can avoid dropped signal by getting another smartphone.

What the hell am I covering up? The Droid X has some defective screens, verizon and moto are taking care of it, they're not denying it and pretending like the problem doesn't exist. Besides the fact that the two problems aren't even comparable (one is how the phone is designed, the other is a defective screen which has nothing to do with the design of the phone), the way that Verizon and Moto have handled the issue is 100000x better than the way Apple handled their issue.

I've posted a handful of times about the iPhone's faulty design, and most of those posts were rebutting some iphone fanbois ridiculous arguments. I didn't over blow anything, I simply said that Apple made a mistake and everyone should move on. The only people keeping the iphone thing alive now are apple fanboys, everyone else has moved on.

Who in the hell is covering up problems? Only in your disgruntled fantasy land.
