What do my fellow Droid X users think of the latest update to Android 2.3? The new interface looks pretty, and it seems to run smoother than the older version.

I just want my new Liberty Rom. I've been on Liberty .4, and am itching to get a full 1.0 release.

I just updated.

Motorola has made Motoblur even uglier, a feat I thought impossible.

Sigh...

Edit: But if you turn off all of the animations, the new theme seems quite snappy :hmm:

It's good and all, but I use Go Launcher so I don't even care about Motoblur. Also, the awesome thing about this ROM is that it makes my phone's battery last what seems like forever.

Hmm... I wonder when the shiny new HTC Inspire 4G that I use for work is going to get the 2.3 update as well.

Does Netflix work for you all? I have been trying to help my friend who has a Droid X enjoy the best part of Gingerbread (Netflix).

Don't try to tether. Your devs haven't been able to rip out the monitoring module yet.

it took you guys long enough to bring this up. i would have done so myself if i hadnt been banned for three months for saying an rival platform was not as good.

does 2.3 fix the problem of the 3g connection periodically going dead? is 2.3 fairly bug free? and would most of you agree that 2.3 improves battery life? is 2.3 laggier (to the point that it would make more sense to just go out and get droid x2)?

i just updated this morning so theres no real testing in yet, but the interface is cool. the netflix "fix" didnt work, ive tried bretty much every workaround ive found and have not gotten past the 1011 error pop up. kind of sucks, i enjoyed watching stuff when i had down time away from my couch.

2.3 seems to improve battery life on my Droid X, and it seems to be less laggy than 2.2 on my phone. It also fixes the bug that I was having with it refusing to automatically check my Exchange work inbox.

They made moto blur more stream lined, and IMO better. Your one of the few that thinks its worse then 2.1, 2.2 Blur

Ugh. My phone is rooted. Should I get the update? And can I do it over wi-fi?

My phone was rooted, too, and it still is. Go check out www.androidforums.com and look under the Droid X sub forum. They have a lot of help if you're upgrading from an old build. When I get out of work, I can even help you if you'd like.

Thanks dlock! I dont know if I can mess with it today, but definitely this weekend. I'll check out android forums and see what happens.

Can't say a whole lot yet, just updated today. Cosmetic differences for sure. I did download and get netflix working just fine.

I tried to go OTA, and update failed. I don't care about being rooted so much, but I did play around with liberty rom and the toolbox, and also using different launcher, and I'm not sure which aspect of this is causing the problem.

Of course, the various android forums have 8000 threads with 8000 pages in each one, so finding the info you need is tough.

And I've been looking at the page linked in the quote, which is somewhat helpful, but I'm not all that sharp when it comes to sbf'ing my phone, so it's more of an exercise in confusion.

they really improved maps. it was almost unusable before. you would pinch out to zoom in and it would zoom etc,, its all been fixed.

does anyone know if they improved the 3g connection stability. it used to lose the connection periodically and you would have to put in airplane mode to reconnect
