I rooted my droid months ago and forgot the process, now need to root my wife's. I should use google but there are ao many different methods out there. Can you guys fill in the blanks from what I remember?

1. Use moto brand usb flash app to enable loading of rooted roms. What was that app called again?
2. Copy rom to sd card
3. Use keyboard combo to get into rom/flash loader screen on droid- what's the combo again?

Am I missing anything? Sorry for being lazy, it just took me hours of trial and error to get it right anf now my wife needs this done before a business trip

Thanks!

Try following this

Or this

and the answer to 3 is: hold the power button and X on the keyboard (while booting the phone) until a yellow triangle appears on screen then hit volume up + camera.

Mydroidworld has some good guides. Does she want some froyo-y goodness? I bet she does ;)

However, I would ask: she needs it done? Anything goes wrong or it's flaky while she's gone it's your ass.

I just got my Droid last month and have been merrily flashing radio basebands, roms, kernels, themes, assorted trinkets here and there and have been fine so far. Main thing--if it won't read the SD card, reboot. And again. And again. Then no again. Then try plugging into USB and rebooting. Threatening it. Again. And then when the M gets stuck on the screen or it's endlessly rebooting, pull that battery, mutter a quiet prayer to whoever you see fit, and try again.

:p

edit: droidforums.net is pretty good too.

Glad you got it working for her. That being said--just got my Droid last month and love it. Been trying all sorts of different stuff on it and very very happy. Disappointing to hear Motorola is trying to lock down all their newer phones.
