I de-sensed my Thunderbolt, I really prefer a vanilla Android OS.

I have no experience with the others, so I can't really criticize them

I'm grabbing the recently released Vanilla Bean ROM right now due to my frustrations with left over Sense in the De-Sensed Das Bamf 1.6.2. Specifically with the Gallery and clock apps.

On a side note, the difference between a AOSP-Flavor ROM and a Sense ROM is around 30-40MBs. Vanilla Bean 1.0 is 180, Das Bamf is 230.

Touchwiz would be alright if the icons in the drawer were editable. I much prefer Launcherpro to anything else I've used anyways.

You can edit the icons. Open the app drawer. Press the menu button to bring up view type. Select customize alphabetical grid. Click and drag the icon you want down to contact or messaging icon. Press menu to save.

I prefer Launcher pro because of the widgets. I love the transparent calender/agenda widget.

That's cool.. did they add that in 2.2? I don't recall it before. Now they just need scrollable widgets. :)

No, it's been there since the day one release of Galaxy S with 2.1. Same with scrollable widgets. Samsung widget like Buddies Now is scrollable and has interactions and animations. Stuff not typically found on regular stock launcher. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/...mplemented-with-the-standard-android-launcher

Touchwiz is lot better than what people give credit for. It has lot of small subtle improvements over stock Android. Most people don't give it a chance and see all that it offers or use it for like 5 minutes and claims it sucks because it does things little differently than what they're used to.

Most what what they talked about while bitching about Touchwhiz actually had nothing to do with Touchwhiz. *shrug*

It had nothing to do with Touchwiz. All the problems mentioned are due to the RFS filesystem and Verizon. RFS filesystem is completely Samsung fault as they chose to go with that retarded filesystem instead of something modern like EXT4. They ditched it for Nexus S and Galaxy S2 which both are using superior EXT4. Droid Charge is still using the retarded RFS so unless people root and patch it with something like Voodoo EXT4, it's going to have performance issues and lag like all first gen Galaxy S. I'm running Trigger custom rom with Voodoo on my Vibrant and I have none of the problems mentioned.

Verizon bloatware is nothing new. That's Verizon and Google/ Android problem. Nothing to do with Touchwiz.

But RFS is the reason I do not recommend people buying the Droid Charge. That and the $300 price. Most of the hardware and software is old on that phone. RFS will lag.

I really just don't care for the widgets AT ALL. They are extremely ugly and most of the space that they take up is wasted with their ugliness. Launcherpro's widgets are simple yet good looking, and all of the space that they take up is actually usable.

That and the dock is about twice as big as it should be. Launcherpro's dock is about half the size, has an extra icon, the ability to scroll between 3 dock pages, and is still 100% usable.

The skin isn't just the launcher. TW launcher sucks, but the skin still offers a better dialer, contacts list (sweep to dial/message), media playback, and of course the notification toggles that both CM7 and the latest Sense copied.

Yep. TouchWiz has some cool stuff.
The ONLY thing I like about Sense is the keyboard. It rules. That's it. The dialer sucks, the Friends Stream sucks, the widgets suck. Everything about it is dated, slow and ugly.
