I have a Droid 1 still. Honestly, my biggest gripe about it is the phone app. When I dial and try to use my phone as a phone....the menus always hide. I have to click through 2-3 screends just to end a call....often, this is difficult while trying to avoid leaving voicemail when someone doesn't answer.

The only other thing I wish the droid 1 had was more onboard storage since it only has 512MB for local apps. I have to remove things or migrate them to the SD card often to keep it from filling up. I'll probably keep my phone as long as possible so if the bionic is a good replacement, I'll hold out until the price drops.

FYI, I think it's a universal 2.2/2.3 option under phone options for: "pushing power button ends call".

I've jumped so many roms on my OG Droid, I can't remember what was stock... :)

I, too, have decided to play the waiting game. They got me so revved up for a 4.5" screen for my large fingers, I can't accept anything less. Waiting to see how the Nexus turns out, or maybe the Droid HD.

Sorry Bionic. It was an interesting ride, I guess.

i pushed almost every single app to the SD card on mine. makes it boot slow but it works better IMO. im also waiting. i was never considering the bionic simply because its moto and most likely will have a locked bootloader. its always been SGS2 or Nexus prime for me, or ill simply continue to wait even longer

It's kind of too little too late in a way. Now that I got in on that TouchPad deal, I'm okay with holding out a while longer for a phone (OG Droid is still going strong).

Last week, I would have probably gone for the Bionic unless there was something horrendous about it.

I honestly feel the same way. I bought a $50 Palm Pixi on the Bay to lock in unlimited data and hold me over for a Bionic. Now that I have a Touchpad in route I have little need for a phone that does anything other than text and make calls atm. The Pixi also happens to include 5GB of tethering a month but who knows how long that will last.

I tested this last night, was able to answer a phone call using the TouchPad paired with my wife's Palm Pixi. It was cooler than it should have been (in the sense that this feature should be a no brainer). I'm hoping this makes its way to Android. Just something to look forward to I suppose.

We have a release date of September 8th. I am going to be trying to get my hands on one with my contract renewal. It will be my first smartphone.

MotoBlur makes the Droid X2 and Droid 3 crawl like snails, buyer beware. I'd hold off for more dual core&LTE options or until Moto/Community unlock the bootloader.
