Hey guys,

So I went shopping for a smartphone after my company came out and said they wanted to start picking up my cellphone tab. Checked Verizon Wireless and they said I can upgrade to a Droid X or Droid 2 (amongst other things) for $249.99 plus a $100 rebate debit (so $149.99 final.) Seemed kind of steep so I decided to shop around. Went to Amazon's wireless division and they had the Droid X for $149.99 (no rebate) so I figured that was better. Then I noticed that I clicked the Droid X when I meant to search for the Droid 2. Found the Droid 2 on the site and when I put in my zip to check price... it came up to $39.99 (no rebates either.) I was thinking dang this has to be a mistake but who am I to argue? Ordered and they gave me free 2-day shipping. Hope this helps someone!

Interesting, I have to read this a bit more but am I to understand correctly that an existing customer can pick up a phone at this price and keep their phone number?

usually you can upgrade your phone every 2 years(when your contract is up), but it also means you have to sign another 2 year contract with the service provider.

I was looking to upgrade to this particular phone until I saw the SAR rating on this unit at 1.49. Decided against it but that's just me. But a very good deal.

that is a high SAR rating. I wonder how many ppl base their phone purchased based on SAR ratings.

Just checked the price, it's now $0.01 cent with a plan!!!

On another page at Amazon it shows as $79.95 for existing customers with a family plan!!!
The $0.01 must be for new subs?

$85 + taxes and fee for cheapest individual plan. Not bad.
Comparing to iPhone, cheapest plan is $55, so for two years 24*$30-$200 = you have saving $520
