Hey all. I posted a few months ago asking about good builds for a video editing / gaming pc. You were all very helpful and I have spent a lot of time researching and coming up with what I think is going to be a good build. I'm about to purchase and just wanted to get some last minute feedback on my build. You can view it at my newegg wishlist here:

http://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/wis...cWishDetail.asp?WishListNumber=3969994

I am planning on setting the two 250gb drives in Raid 0/1 (although I've never setup a raid so that might prove interesting). The 320 drive will be for capturing video and rendering. I plan on purchasing another one down the road so I can have one for storage and one for rendering as someone suggested to me.

If you guys could take a quick gander at the build and let me know your thoughts and if you have any suggestions on how to better improve I'd be very grateful to hear your opinions.

Thanks!

considering all the other hardware you are buying, I would not get an E6600. an E4300 will do you just as good, they have the same multiplier, and you should be able to hit 3 GHZ with both of them.

with the extra 200, you can either buy a better HSF than stock, or pocket it.

GL with your build.

Mobo: Asus has a better rep than MSI these days. And unless you're planning on SLI, just get a P965-based motherboard like a Gigabyte DS3 or Biostar TForce965.

Video Card: This card is just as fast, but less expensive.

PSU: This PSU is much better on the quality-scale, although it's not as flashy.

HD: Skip the hassle of RAID, and having multiple smaller hard drives. Pick up a $100 400GB WD SE16; add another later on if you need more storage.

RAM: Just grab two sticks of this instead; 2GB for $122. They're actually pretty decent at overclocking (DDR2 800-900 speeds).

Thanks for the suggestions jpeyton. I had actually originally picked up the corsair psu, but found that Hiper psu and since it was slightly bigger and had gotten reviews I figured why not. After reading some more of the reviews though I think you are right in going with the Corsair, so I'm gonna do that.

I'm also going to take your suggestion and go with the 400GB WD from outpost as I had not realized I picked a 320 IDE drive lol. Although I am still going to go for the two 250 gb to setup in raid. I know it might end up being a pain, but I'm going to be having a lot of files I'm not going to want to lose just to save a few bucks.

The mobo and video card I don't think I'm going to change as I might want to buy another and setup SLI down the road. And I don't see the point of getting that ram when I just have to send in the MIR and get $50 off much better ram, no?
