I've had the DRM Notification pop up in the notification area about 6 time or so in the last few months and have searched on Google for a reason but not much help. I understand that DRM is the digital rights thing and that it has something to do with protecting property rights, but I have no music or media of any kind that I have not paid for AND I see no way to stop this nonsense.

To clarify, I have nearly 16GB of music and most (>80%) was ripped from CD's I've bough over the last 26 years with most of the other music purchased, online via iTunes when I had an iPhone (3G). I have no movies or TV programs at all and all my apps have been purchased through the market. So, once again, I have no media of any kind that I did not buy, but how do I prove ownership of music ripped from CD's years ago?

So, what do I do to stop this notification nonsense from happening?

The problem is sometimes paying for that song means that you paid for the right to play it on your computer.

I don't understand why iTunes music would give you a problem. Are you able to play the DRM'ed songs or they just don't play?
