"Driving lights"?

I was looking for a repair manual in Autozone and saw a whole mess of "driving lights". Are these really any use? I'd like to have more light thrown ahead of me so that I can see better at 80mph on the unlight 290. Of course, American market headlights spread light in an insipid 180° arc. I assume getting European spec lights would not be worth the effort, so I am considering some driving lights.
Is there much difference between brands? There were 12W ones at Autozone, and I would replace my useless foglights with them. Any input is appreciated.

Yep, those driving lights will help you see just like it was daylight. Unfortunately, every other driver on the road will be blinded, but that's ok, you will be able to see them coming straight at you.

Well I plan to align them correctly... I saw quite a few driving lights last night, and none of them blinded me.
What did blind me was the BMW driver who kept leaving his lane whenever I passed him (ego?), causing his misaligned right headlight to reflect directly off my mirrors and into my eyes!

I bought foglights off Ebay from dude in England. They are 75watt bulbs. Clear and freakn' bright. Also make the 97Nissan PU look better too. I can't drive without them now, as I can see the sides of the road better, and frontal vision is great too

Foglights? Are they yellow? I don't find my foglights to be much use as far as visibility. Plus it's ricey to drive around with your foglights on in TX .

Also, to prevent blindage to other drivers, I may fabricate some kind of hood...
