So I got a new car (OK new to me) I went from a 1990 Old cutlass ciera :brokenheart:
to a 2001 nissan sentra GXE:thumbsup::beer::shocked:
a great step up the olds was a gas guzziling POS.
this was my brother-in-law's car he kept it in perfect condition. He did put some koning (?) rims on with low profile tires.

I can't believe how much fun it is with these wheels!! it just sticks to the road no back end sliding on turns!!
I am having fun again when driving after over 2 years of no fun!!!!!!

the tires are pretty worn though, the only thing I don't like about them is the amount of road noise they transmit.

can anyone reccomend some nice tires that grip well but are a little more quieter?
can anyone tell me how to read the tire info on the side?

I would think that the olds would be better in terms of accelleration, unless it has problems.

A bloated fat pig with probably a 4 banger...

Just dont get Z rated tires on that GXE and the road noise should be reduced... low profile tires have that issue though and finding one that isn't a z rated with grip will be an issue...

probably the 3.1 or 3800 actually

the olds leaked water around the doors, the windows seals were dry rotting ( i used silicon to fix some of it) the paint looks like a seagull puked it up, the left front had some minor damage. the engine was powerful (6cyl 3.8l) but the handling sucked. I had only 1 working speaker in it.......etc.

That's because you're understeering.

I've heard great things about Kumho tires. If you can get a performance-oriented tire that's not Z-rated, you'll be in great shape.

Kuhmo MX, Yokohama AVS ES100, Falken Azenis, etc...all great tires.

I can vouch for the ES100 as I have a set on the Maxima. Loads of grip in dry and wet. But can't use it in the winter. It's relatively quieter (much quieter than previous tires). Altho I doubt tire noise would be an issue in a Sentra, there probably is more wind/engine noise.
