I cant believe this. My mom calle dme today and said the police gave me a citation! What did I do? I made an illegal U-turn at 5:15 PM @ my address in Boston. OK, if I did this, fine, i'd pay it. However, there is a few things wrong with this picture:
1. I work a 9-5 scheduale. What does this matter? I commute from Woburn, MA, which is a 15-20 min commute on the highway with no traffic. So, how could I make such a turn at 5:15? Ok, so what if I left earlier that day. Say around 4:45? Well, anybody that lives in Boston knows that going form 93 to Strorrow drive at 5, epsecially on a Friday, is a 10 minute communte all together. So, that means I am in Boston at 5:10, so I have 5 more minutes to make that U turn. But then I have to go through Huntington Ave all the way to the end. That alone is another 10 -15 commute. But wait, I also have to drop off a fellow car pooler.....it just does not seem logical that I could make such a U-turn ar 5:15.
2. While I do live right on the T, i would never make a U turn on the T tracks simply because I dont park infront of my apartment. Why? Because there are never any parking spaces there. I always park a block away up the street where there are no T tracks because the spaces are easier to find. So, why woudl i possibly make a u turn before my parkign space?
3. Why didn't the cop give me a ticket there an then? Instead, he mails it to my mom (the car is registered under her name). Why couldn't he pull me over? It wouldn't be that hard since i was gonna park up the street anyways. So, he waited till i left the car to get all my info? Is he scared of a chubby asian kid in a 2001 Nissan Altima with a broken light?
The fine: $100.00. this sucks, now I have to take time out of work to fight this dumb case.....
