I ordered a Logitech G27 so...what are some good driving games? Doesn't necessarily have to be racing games, just driving. Hell, if you told me that some shooter game that happened to have vehicles in it had a good driving experience that might work. I mean, I do plan on trying Dirt and one of those racing games like iRacing or something but not just racing.

Can you hook it up to a console as generally racing games are one of the few types that most prefer on them and probably would have better luck with them if you have the current ones.

I haven't really enjoyed driving games except one, Burnout: Paradise - but that was on PS3.

Depends how serious you want to get. iRacer is the extreme end of realistic and Project cars is a pretty alpha release of a reasonable simulation. In the middle you have the F1 and Dirt that can be a challenge to new drivers but aren't all that good as simulations and then games like Burnout that are just a bit of fun comparatively.

iracer for a simulator. Grid for arcade/simulator fun. I like Grid better than the Shift series or Dirt

I had a hard time finding any to play consistently myself ( have a G25 ) Now my wheel just sits there out of use for the most part. Haven't used it in ages, longer than a year.

I wish there were some highly competitive multiplayer racing games on the PC. Something similar to twisted metal on the PS would be awesome.

Checkout Project Cars. It's in development and slated for release this year. It's like Gran Turismo but takes advantage of the advanced features of the PC. Unfortunately the user support tool packs are closed, they have reached their funding goal of 3.75million euros.

The way it worked was they offered people opportunities to purchase tool packs which funds the game and gives you perks. The lowest tier was less than $30 and would give you access to monthly playable builds and their forums. When the game released it would entitle you to a discount on the purchase. The higher tiers allowed you to actually get an opponent AI car named after you, access to track days (where they go to a real track and drive real cars to get data to be used in the game), give you a free copy of the game at release, use some of the billboards in the game to advertise yourself etc. Was pretty cool. They closed this, but it is worth keeping an eye on the further developments of the game. I have played an older build and I must say, it looked and felt fantastic. I posted a few screenshots below. The detail is incredible.

I havn't got a wheel anymore so have to restrict myself to more arcade type games with the xbox controller.

Formula 1 2012 is OK. Dirt 2 is brilliant. Just bought Grid for £10. Will let you know if it's any good.

Grid is a fun game, although I found using the Keyboard better than using a Wheel.

Grid is fun for racing.
TDU is fun for exploring. Also collecting.
TDU 2 is more of the same but they add a lot of social networking bullshit I didnt care for.

Not sure about Grid.

With traction control off, you are at a serious disadvantage to other cars in the game, it seems much more violent than in Gran turismo 5 on the PS3.

With the traction control on, it's far too unrealistic and the cars won't even budge from their line. I liked the incremental TC system in GT5.

This is on serious level, with no aids on. Perhaps at a lower difficulty the TC off option would be useful. Without TC is much more fun.

I know real race cars tend to use TC (i think), but on Grid it's nigh on impossible to lose any grip with it on. So you have two options, boring and easier, or fun and last, lol.

Just been on Grid for an hour. I put the level down from serious to normal. Now with all aids off it is OK actually.

Basically with TC off, always stay in third, and it's good fun! Can power slide around. Game looks good too for it's age.

I'd be interested to know if you choosing TC off or on, whether the other cars are the same settings. Stability control off etc too.
