Drives not showing

When I put a zip drive on the master port and the cd-rom on the slave port, they don't show up in windows, yet they do during startup. If I swap them around, no probs, but I heard it's good to put recordable drives on master. I've done the jumpers properly (checked 5 times), reinstalled the drivers and still no go. I've got a KT7A-RAID.

I've got a KT7-RAID, and I have my zip on the primary slave and my cdrom on primary master. I have my plextor as secondary master. Never tried putting my zip as primary master.

Having a recordable drive as Slave rather than Master shouldn't make a difference. The instructions with my Teac CDRW even stated to set the drive as Slave.

Yeah, I can't remember where it said to put it on the master, but, as you say, why does it make a difference where I put it?
