I am planning to purchase a HighPoint RocketRAID 2720SGL for an internal array on my desktop computer. My plan is to put together a RAID-5 array using 4x2TB drives. Does anyone have suggestions on which drive(s) will work with this setup? I am more concerned with the redundancy than the speed, however good sequential speeds would be appreciated if possible.
I am a student, so the WD RE4 drives and Hitachi UltraStars are out of my price range.
Will this setup work with the WD Green drives (4KB advanced format sector, no TREL)? If not, which drives should I consider? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
