I had to reinstall XP onto my HP system. I have an AMD X2 3800+ is there a driver or fix I need for it? My PC seems to by lagging/going slow.

Thanks

Have you installed all the latest motherboard drivers you need? Check latest updates as well.

I usually get lags due to no graphics driver or something. Motherboard drivers is usually what causes this problem.

Do a Google search for "AMD Dual Core drivers" and choose the top link. There are 2 drivers you should download and install. I tried to get to the page and send you a link but the page wouldn't load for me.

The lag would make you think it was a CPU issue. When there are no graphics drivers the CPU tends to take a toll because it's trying to do everything.

When you have video drivers, the CPU isn't doing all the work.

I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

Either way, it's a common mistake.

Glad to hear you got it resolved, trigun500
