I currently have a geforce fx 5900xt msi. i'm running 66.93 drivers from the nvidia website. Iwas wondering if the drivers off of guru3d.com were any good and if they would help out at all.

Thx

You're unlikely to actually see a difference, to be honest. The only difference may be a few fps or 3D Marks here and there in benchmarking. If it's broke, don't fix it ;)

Well, since you're not running a current-gen card, you're unlikely to see anything. Any optimizations and tweaks that are being made, are mostly for the GF6-Series. However, there are some things still being done for the FX's, so, in that case, I would say go to NVIDIA's website, and get the 71.84 WHQL's. Those should be plenty sufficient.

try the XG drivers from tweaksRus, they are based on official and beta nvidia drivers and i find them to be excellent. i did have the 71.84 CG drivers and they were great. wicked IQ and performance to boot. im on the 76.41's at the mo, beta drivers but they get rid of the annoying temp bug that was heating my card up 10 dgrees more than normal (yes actually heating the card up physically, i tested with a thermal probe)

when you install there a 4 seperate profiles for different series nvidia cards

theres 6 series, FX series, GF4 series and Laptop gpus, download them and pick the FX (5x00 series) series. XG will have tweaked settings etc, to get the best out of 6, 5 and 4 series and laptop cards

jus a siggestion, if u dont fell like it, stick with official drivers from nvidia site.

I would also advise the 71.84 XG that are optimized for your series. That is what i am using and i love it.
