Hey guys... i got a compaq presario sr1420nx that doesnt have pnp drivers after i installed the OS... i need the video drivers, sound drivers and a pci dialup cards drivers...

compaq doesnt have these drivers and i cant find them online 🙁

according to a review the PC has these features:
Description
Intel Celeron D 340 (2.93GHz) Processor
512MB P2700 DDR Memory
80GB 7,200rpm ATA Hard Drive
16x DVD+/-RW Dual-Layer Writer
AC'97 Audio
Intel Extreme 2 Graphics with 64MB Shared Memory
v.92 56Kbps Modem, 10/100 Ethernet

Which OS are you running? I can't believe that there wouldn't be a driver for an intel onboard video.

For audio you can try to find which chip is used and look up the driver. Same for the modem. Open the PC and have a look.

yeah... it was a huge headache... it seems compaw and asus have teamed up and made the drivers unavailable to normal users without the recovery cds... i found all the drivers after 1-2 hours of confusion. 🙂

HP/Compaq sucks for getting drivers online. Some drivers aren't available or are REALLY hard to locate. That's why I recommend Dells for those buying pre-built PCs.

Usually you can eventually find the needed drivers, either from a similar PC on Compaq's site, or from the OEM (chipmaker's) site.
