ok...i've got an old dell system that was running windows me and crashing every time i launched windows explorer. I finally got fed up, formatted, and switched to win2k. for some reason, windows update doesn't detect the video and misc drivers I need, and the dell disk I have only supports winme drivers. Is there anywhere else I can look for drivers like an online library of drivers or something? I don't know the make or model of my vid card, and the other devices just say unknown. any suggestions?

You may have to open it up and try to find out what's in there and go to mfr's web site for drivers. If it is all original equipment, then Dell may have the drivers. www.driverguide.com is a source for drivers.

thanks for the sites. for anybody curious, I did check dell's website, and they have no link for drivers. They make you log in with a customer id that i don't have

You do not need to sign in to Dell's site.

Just go to Dell.com, click Support (top middle of page)
Under Alternate Sign-in either enter the Service Tag number
off the PC or choose the Model under "ChooseProduct/System Type"
Then click "Sign in to Standard support". Then Downloads.

If you enter the Service Tag it will show you what the System was originally
purchased with along with links to the drivers.
