Why is it so frickin expenseive? What the hell happened between the time I was a teen and now? Because it wasnt that frickin long ago and it sure as hell wasnt priced anything like it is now. WTF happened, did everyone get hit by the stupid bus and just decide to be bent over the table by every little thing?

Anyway, is there any alternative at all to being raped by these outrageously fricking overpriced bullcrap driver's training courses????

Wait until they're 17 and 1/2 or 18 or w/e and then teach them yourself after they get their learners permit?

You'll save a good chunk of the driver's ed cost in insurance reductions in the first few years.

Plus you won't have an insane teen driver on your hands. The only person I know who didn't do driver's ed makes everyone uncomfortable when they drive.

What is "frickin' expensive"? I think when I did mine it was like $350 and included a bunch of class time plus 30 hours in a car.

But, that was quite a few years ago. =(

My drivers ed class was $250. I had to spend 12 hours with the instructor, I was on my own for spending the time in a car with a licenced driver. On my first drive out with him he told me I was a very good driver, except I was always speeding. 😀

my son paid $210 for drivers ed. He said the instructor slept thw hole time he was driving. Just told him where to go.

Mine was 200 maybe but that was awhile ago 🙂
My oldest just got her permit and we have been looking around and prices now are 500 or more

If your teen is a boy I don't care how well you think you know him. Put a GPS device in the car to monitor his driving habits and tell him it's there. Some boys turn into a rabid monsters behind the wheel. They could be perfect little darlings but when they are driving it's video game time. I knew a lot of kids like this.

not sure where you are but in Cali you can sign up for the written test prep for about 30 bucks and then you get a permit to take it (under 18) then you just pay an instructor for 6 hours of training before the behind the wheel test

I know plenty of adults like that too. These days, I have a hard time complaining about the way "kids" drive. More often than not, their parents are just as bad of drivers.
